We are an imperfect group of people who believe in the grace of God for us and the world. We seek to follow Jesus together as a community and in our own individual lives. We are learning more each day what it means to love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
Our Pastor
Rev. Lisa M. López-Meyer, Pastor
Rev. Lisa M. López-Meyer was born in Illinois, raised in Puerto Rico, and has been ordained as a Minister of the Word and Sacrament in the PCUSA since August 13, 2011. She holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (which helped cultivate her deep curiosity about the stuff that makes up our world) as well as a Masters in Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary (which helped her ask better questions about life, faith, God and humanity). After Seminary she served as the Associate Minister for Groomsport Presbyterian Church in County Down, Northern Ireland (2011-2012) and the solo pastor for Christ Presbyterian Church in Hanover Park, IL (2012-2020). She has taught at McCormick Theological Seminary on occasion, drawing from her experience as a pastoral practitioner.
Pastor Lisa loves the church and finds deep joy in seeing people come alive by the power of the gospel. She believes the church is at its best when it understands it is always a work in progress and strives to help people continue to seek to be renewed by the power of the Holy Spirit, persevere in learning the ways of Jesus and reach out to their neighbors in love and service. In her sabbath time she loves reading, dancing, organizing anything she can get her hands on, and dreaming about the future with her husband Jonathan and her son Nathan.
