Christian Education
One of the ways we seek to grow in faith is through Christian education. Some of our regular programs are featured below.
Sunday School Classes
We hold Sunday School classes for ages 3 to adult during the school year (September through May) from 9:15 am-10:15 am. Classes are organized by age group. This year the children’s classes include the following levels: PreK & K, 1st-2nd grade, 3rd-4th grade, Jr. High (5th-7th) & High School. Pre-K through 4th grade participate in Children’s Choir practices as part of Sunday School. The Jr. High School Class includes preparation for the Puppeteers, who present puppet skits for children in worship on the 4th Sunday of the month through the School Year. There is one current adult bible study. For more information about Sunday School, please contact Coordinator, Staci Thompson.

Confirmation
In Confirmation a youth who was usually baptized as an infant or younger child makes their own personal profession of faith in Jesus Christ and makes an intentional commitment to become an active member of the congregation. In preparation for confirmation, 8th graders (or equivalent age) spend the best part of the year learning more about God, the Church, the Bible, and what it means to follow Jesus in the world, from a Presbyterian perspective. Confirmation classes usually take place during the Sunday School hour.
Vacation Bible School
Our VBS is one of the highlights of the year! Children age 4-11 (or 5th grade) are invited to participate in a week of exploring bible stories through storytelling, music, games, and crafts. Yummy snacks are served each day. This year’s VBS “Breaker Rock Beach” was held from July 29-Thursday, August 1st, 9 am-11 am.
Bible Studies

WFPC hosts seasonal Bible Studies during the Winter, Spring, and Fall. Studies may focus on one particular book of the Bible or portions of Scripture according to a topic of interest. Most Bible Studies meet in-person, but some may meet via Zoom. Bible Studies are announced in the worship service, newsletter, and facebook page.
Youth Group
The Youth Group program exists to provide additional opportunities for youth (ages 13-18+) to grow in faith through fellowship, education and service. It is open to youth who attend WFPC, their friends, and any youth in the community interested in participating. Youth Group meets twice a month, usually on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month from 6:30 pm-8 pm in the Youth Room. We also have lots of fun through special activities, from volunteering at the Food Bank to movie nights, bowling nights and the annual Stronghold Youth retreat! For more information about Youth Group contact Pastor Lisa.
New Members’ Orientation

If you wish to join the church officially as an active member, you will want to go through New Members’ Orientation. Orientation (as one longer meeting or a series of short meetings) is scheduled whenever a small group of new participants is interested. It includes a review of what it means to be a Christian, a Presbyterian, the ministries of this congregation, and the privileges and responsibilities of members. Contact Pastor Lisa for more information or to schedule a New Members’ Orientation meeting today.
